The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), through its Professional Development Committee, has announced a final opportunity for members to submit the Multipurpose Empanelment Form (MEF) for the year 2025–26. This decision comes in response to several requests received from members who were unable to complete their MEF submission within the earlier deadline. ICAI has clarified that this will be the last chance for such members to apply. The MEF portal will reopen exclusively on 16th and 17th October 2025, during which eligible members can complete their submissions. After these dates, no further extensions or opportunities will be provided.

The MEF process is a key annual exercise conducted by ICAI for empanelment of Chartered Accountants and firms with various authorities, including the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (C&AG), Reserve Bank of India (RBI), and other regulatory bodies for professional assignments such as audits and certifications. The form captures detailed information regarding a member’s or firm’s constitution, experience, and eligibility for empanelment. ICAI has urged members to visit the official website https://meficai.org/ to access the form and complete the required details within the stipulated window. The announcement emphasizes timely compliance to avoid exclusion from the empanelment process for 2025–26.

Members are advised to ensure accuracy and completeness of data submitted, as it forms the basis for selection and recommendation to audit and regulatory authorities. The Professional Development Committee’s notice reiterates that all submissions must be made strictly within the two-day period, and no submissions will be entertained beyond 17th October 2025.
